Our Vision,  Purpose and Values

Our vision is that refugees and people seeking asylum in the Greater Manchester area can access high quality support, inform decision making on issues that affect them, and are equipped with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to embrace their new lives in the UK.

Our collective purpose is to develop a joined-up and collaborative ecosystem of support for refugees and people seeking asylum across Greater Manchester.

Our Shared values include

Inclusion and participation: Our work aims to be led by the needs, experience and insights of those with lived experience of claiming asylum. We actively encourage the equal participation of all consortium organisations and the Experts by Experience group to ensure we hear and include everyone’s voice.

Respect for diversity of perspective: We recognise and respect the differences in size, scale, expertise and approach between organisations. We try to ensure the consortium space is one where we are open and honest in our communication and respectful towards each others’ work and expertise. We are a consortium that is collectively responsible for our joint work, and accountable to each other.

Centered on collaboration, development and learning: As a consortium we are aiming to develop services, advocate for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum and develop capacity within a complex social change context. We commit to nurturing a learning and development culture where we encourage honest feedback and constructive criticism in order for us to respond collectively to the challenges we collectively are facing.
